Copycat, Counterfeit, or Original?

What is the difference you might ask? While a copycat is someone who wants to emulate the original and try to be as much like in character and deed and reflect the original, showing those attributes and behavior of that other person,a counterfeit will only appear to look like on the surface and respond like the original. The intentions are not really there to show forth honest and pure motives but are borne out of ulterior motives instead.
In the Body of Christ today, the Ecclesia, we need to emulate what Jesus Christ taught us and have foundations based on what He taught us and teachings of the Apostles in the early Church where they went out with the Gospel to all strata of society and proclaimed the Gospel with Power and with Authority that shook the known world at that time.
The counterfeit is a structure which wants power only for itself. It is man-made and not Inspired by God. It seeks to keep people hemmed into a religious system with a hierarchy that tells the general population what to do. It has all the outer trimmings of success and what people want to see, a big structure that appeals to the flesh and gratifies the senses but not building up the spirit within man that is to be displayed amongst Gods people.
Jesus Christ is not the one who is raised up, but there is a false kind of idolatry that will never bring about change or Revival while purporting to build up the Kingdom of God and God’s people. Do we follow Christ or follow man-made ideas? We need to be willing to come away from the white elephant in the room and embrace the simplicity experienced through ordinary people in the Book of Acts who gave everything they had in selfless sacrifice to further the Gospel and building Community, Prayer, Discipleship, Fellowship and Revival as they proclaimed the Gospel.
We all need to decide what is most important in our lives, honoring God in all we do or taking care of our own needs as we see fit. Do we want to be fake in our lives spiritually? If we need to copy someone or something, wouldn’t it be better if it was the original and not a counterfeit? Let us examine our own hearts and yield ourselves more and more to the Lord. He is our example. We will get back our purpose in life and things will become much clearer in all we do. Praise God!
Let us examine our ways and test them, and let us return to the Lord. Let us lift up our hearts and our hands to God in Heaven, and say: “We have sinned and rebelled and You have not forgiven.
You came near when I called You, and you said, “Do not fear”. You, Lord took up my case; you redeemed my life.
Lamentations 3:41-42,57-58. (NIV)
I will pay attention to the way of integrity. When will You come to me? I will live with a heart of integrity in my house.
Psalm 101:2 (Holman CSB)
