Jewel in the Crown!

The other day the Lord showed me a picture of a magnificent crown that was so beautiful and full of many precious jewels. I didn’t know why He was showing me this crown, but I must say it was more dazzling than any earthly crown I have seen, for example, the Crown Jewels which I believe are still held at the Tower of London. It is lovely to see such jewels but they will remain safely behind the very strong glass and security system there to protect them from being stolen or harmed in any way. This also reminded me that different Kings and Queens throughout history have worn different crowns that all have their individual style and are decorated with gold and precious jewels of all descriptions.
Just recently I was able to watch the repeat series on television about Queen Victoria and Queen Elisabeth 2. The second series was entitled “The Crown”. It was and still is important for the Queen to represent what the Crown stands for alongside with many other responsibilities like as Queen representing the Commonwealth of Nations of which she still is very much respected. She also has the ear of the Prime Minister who represents the Government which happens to be in power at the time. She is also head of the Church of England and has had to make decisions based on the office she holds. The responsibility of a reigning monarch is a lifetime duty to uphold the Crown which she represents. Decisions cannot just be made frivolously. Much thought has to go into everything that is done because all eyes will be on the monarchy and keeping with the protocol of what is expected of the monarch.
I thank God that as Believers in the body of Christ we do not have that kind of pressure placed on us on a daily basis. We do have a responsibility, however, to represent our King, the Lord Jesus Christ as Ambassadors and can be counted on to reflect Him and be a representation to the world of His Kingdom and His majesty. Unlike an earthly King, we can have access right into the very presence of the King. We are even given beautiful crowns that one day we will lay at His feet. It says in Isaiah 28:5 that in that day that the Lord of Hosts will become a beautiful crown and a glorious diadem to the remnant of His people. In 2 Timothy 4:8 it also says that in the future there is laid up for us the crown of righteousness, which the Lord who is the righteous judge will give to us on that day, to all of us that love His appearance.
Are we ready to meet with Him on that final day? Will we have rewards for our faithfulness and diligence and humility in serving our King? Will we be welcomed into His Glorious Presence knowing that we have done all that He has asked us to do with passion and Love first for Him and represented Him with even more respect than what we would show to an earthly King or Queen? Are we getting ready and have our garments spotless and clean or have we forgotten that we are joint heirs with Christ and represent a different Kingdom and not any earthly Kingdom as our citizenship is of Heaven?
I think if we fully realized our responsibility to imitate Jesus Christ and become more like Him as the days soon approach for His promised return, we would not be so occupied in pleasing ourselves and getting distracted by what the world has to offer. The 24 elders are in Heaven and they along with the Hosts of Heaven are worshipping the King who lives forever and ever. As they fall down before Him, they lay their crowns before the throne. They say, ” You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by Your Will they were created and have their being”. This is found in Revelations 4: 10-11 (NIV)
Will we be ready to do the same, I wonder and have hearts enraptured by His beauty and countenance. King of Kings and Lord of Lords!
You shall be a crown of beauty in the the hand of the Lord, and a royal diadem in the hand of your God.
Isaiah 62:3 (ESV)
But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, that you may proclaim the excellency of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.
1 Peter 2:9 (ESV)
I will greatly rejoice in the Lord; my soul shall exult in my God, for He has clothed me with garments of salvation, He has covered me with the robes of righteousness, as a bridegroom decks himself like a priest with a beautiful headdress, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.
Isaiah 61:10ESV)
The Lord their God will save His people on that day as a shepherd saves his flock. They will sparkle in His land like Jewels in a Crown.
Zechariah:9:16 (NIV)
